Busy houses have a specific look. Not filthy, usually. Just interrupted. Somebody cleared the breakfast stuff but never wiped the chair legs. The bathroom mirror got hit in the middle and nowhere else. The kitchen is mostly fine until you lean on the counter and feel the old spot near the coffee maker. A lot of Naperville families know that version of clean. The house is functioning. It just never quite resets. That is usually when the search starts. Not after one bad Saturday. After a month of small compromises. Work runs long, practice ends late, somebody has groceries in the trunk, somebody else is answering emails at the island, and the house starts collecting proof of all of it. At that point people are not really shopping for a luxury service. They are trying to get some room back...
