CAT 2023 Exam Details

IIM Lucknow has released the official notification for CAT 2023. CAT Registration 2023 started on 2 August 2023 and the last date to fill out the application form is 13 September 2023. Candidates who are interested to take admission in top MBA colleges in India can begin their registration on the official website at iimcat.ac.in.

CAT 2023 Exam Date is 26 November 2023 in three sessions across around 155 test cities. Applicants will have the opportunity to choose their preferred six test cities in order of priority.

CAT exam is conducted by the top six IIMs on a rotational basis. Last year, IIM Bangalore conducted the exam after a gap of six years. IIM Lucknow will be the convening institute for the upcoming exam.

How to Apply for CAT 2023 Exam?

Candidates can fill out the application form online mode at the iimcat.ac.in the website. Follow the steps below to complete the CAT Application Process:

  • Visit the CAT 2023 website and click on ‘new registration’.
  • You need to provide basic details, such as a functional email ID, phone number, and password.
  • Candidates must confirm registration by entering the OTP sent to their phone.
  • After that candidates must fill in academic details and select a valid personal ID number (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport number, etc.).
  • After filling in the required details candidates need to upload scanned copies of their photograph and signature.
  • After uploading candidates can choose preferred IIMs and courses, along with test cities.
  • For completion of the application process candidates must pay the CAT application fee using debit/credit card or net banking.

CAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are willing to appear in the exam must fulfill the CAT Eligibility Criteria. The criteria is given below:

  • Candidates must’ve graduated from a recognized University or educational institution with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories].
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution.

CAT 2023 Exam Pattern

CAT 2023 question paper contains three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The CAT exam is known for its moderate to high difficulty level. Below are the highlights of the CAT 2023 exam pattern:
